EVs are cleaner than gas cars, but a growing share of Americans don't believe it
  • IMO, I still think there's not enough infrastructure to support charging EVs. Don't get me wrong I've seen some. Just... Not a lot. Until charging is as prevalent as gas its just not worth it. Or if you have a house I guess.

In some areas I hear it's good. But in my area there's only 1 set of charging stations at a Wawa that I know of. And that Wawa is an hour drive away. Plus I'm at a rental complex that mows the lawns regularly and having a cable run from my house to the car is not allowed.

My current gas operated vehicle has about 160000 miles on it. I'm hopeful that my vehicle will last a long time. And then when my vehicle dies, I'll look at the infrastructure again and see if it's beneficial for me to switch to an EV. I'm going to continue to wait until it's beneficial for me to buy a new car.

    We'll see how it goes.

  • who comes decides country who comes this to who
  • OK so, this is a really weird way to read it and doesn't make any sense. But i think i got it. IMO makes the most sense. Start from the bottom kinda.

"Who comes to this country decides who comes."

And the "Who" that is sideways is probably a logo. For whatever they're trying to push or advertise. And not actually apart of the phrase.

  • Do you use a case with your handheld emulators or do you raw dog them?
  • I have a few retro devices.

    • Pistation (basically a mini playstation 1: I modded the case with a exacto knife in order to fit a "Indiedroid Nova" in it)
    • SF2000 (SNES Controller with a screen, only plays older games though. Like before n64.)
    • GPi case. (A game boy with a cartridge slot. Supports Raspberry pi zero. I also have a cartridge that supports the RPi 4 compute module although idk if you can still get it.)
    • Modded PSP
    • Modded 3ds XL
    • Samsung Galaxy S24+ ( I might buy a Gamesir X2 Wireless controller for it. )

Those are ones I have off the top of my head. I don't remember if I have other ones.

  • without saying how old you are, how old are you?
  • I don't remember playing the math game. Maybe I did idk. But I remember playing like a matching game like Othello maybe or was it like tic tac toe I don't remember.

And I also watched alot of NOVA space related videos and content. I like space. :-)

  • without saying how old you are, how old are you?
  • My family had the Prodigy internet service when I was a kid.

    Obligatory modem noises:

    dooodooodoodododoo....dooodooo...doooo.dooo.dooodooodooo EEEEHHHHRRRRHHHHHEHEEHHHARRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEE....

  • It's Friday - What are your plans for the week-end?
  • Every Saturday I've been going to my local game store and playing various card and/or board games.

A lot of the time we play Magic the Gathering. Sometimes we play Dungeons and Dragons.

But I also have a whole backpack of a bunch of other games I bring for variety sake.

Just recently I finally got my physical copy of "Fools Blade". It's a new card game where players collect sword parts and craft their own swords to go adventuring (both PvE and PvP). I'm super stoked to play it.

  • How's your week been?
  • I've (MtF) been doing pretty good lately. I recently came out to work and I'm about to get a new badge soon. I'm basically full time fem now.

The only ones I haven't come out to yet are like outside family members such as my aunts and grandma and cousins. I currently have a supportive cousin but we barely talk due to life and stuff. And I'm pretty sure my aunts are gonna flip out so that'll be bad. Grandma might be supportive. And I have at least one other cousin in the LGBTQ community. My parents are not supportive but my Dad still at least wants to talk to me and stuff so that's nice I guess. So I guess its a bit of a mix in that regard...

In addition, HRT is doing its thing and I like the progress I've been making. Although atm, idk if its the progesterone... but at night i get really dizzy and tired sometimes... Thankfully I'm usually at home by the time I take my meds so, I just lay down and fall asleep. And I'm usually better in the morning.

This Wednesday I'll be going to a hair salon to get my hair trimmed a bit, but not too much. I'm trying to grow it out. And then later I plan on making another appointment to get my hair dyed. Probably gonna do red highlights of some kind (I currently have Brown hair).

And then I'm also going to Otakon on Aug 2nd so that'll be fun!

So yee! Overall pretty good ;-) <3

  • How programmers comment their code
  • I had a old job that told me that code is "self documenting" if you write it "good enough". And that comments were unnecessary.

It always annoyed the heck out of me. Comments are imo more helpful than hurtful typically.

Is it just me? Or am I weird? Lol.

  • What's your biggest gamer achievement?
  • I beat Dot Hack Infection, Mutation, Outbreak, and Quarantine in order back when they were first releasing on the PS2 in the US. And importing my memory card save every time.

My friend witnessed me defeat the final boss in Quarantine. It was such a long and crazy fight. And the whole thing was just mindblowing.

Sadly I don't have any pictures or videos of it. And I traded in my PS2 a long time ago.

I have been considering revisiting the game but it's a big game with ALOT of content. I don't know when I'll get around to it.

    Good times and Good memories.

  • Do you use both a personal desktop and laptop?
  • My desktop is for home and gaming use. However I also have a gaming laptop which I bought for whenever I travel. That said, I don't travel much... shrug

I actually ended up using my gaming laptop as a way of playing VR games in my room so that I have more privacy. Although I'll still unplug and take it with me whenever I travel.

I also just recently got a Samsung Galaxy S24+ and a touchscreen display to use DeX mode as a tablet of sorts. Mostly for note taking when I don't want to take my heavy gaming laptop.

I'm all over the place lol. I also work in the tech field. Computer Programmer. So yeah... lol.

  • Is there any closed source android app that you wish had a good open source alternative?
  • A nutrition tracker where you can enter what foods you eat into a small database. And then when you eat meals you can check those foods off in order to calculate all of the nutrition facts consumption per day. And it could be expanded even further by adding graphs and reports such as Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly.

Could track Calories, Vitamins, Minerals, and other specific nutrition stats. Most nutrition apps I've seen only track Calories... Or don't have accurate nutrition applied to specific foods as it is generic. Letting the user add the food as a item in a small database would give the user more control of how the stats and reports are calculated.

Could be helpful for some to see their intake and then figure out ways to change it to become healthier.

  • Favourite controllers
  • My favorite controller currently is: "Gulikit Kingkong 2 Pro"

It has hall effect sensors for the sticks and triggers so pretty much drift proof.

The layout is similar to a switch controller but the buttons can be swapped for a more Xbox-ish layout.

You can look it up on amazon. I bought it back in Nov 2022 and it still hasn't failed me.
