  • “One option would grant temporary oversight to Gaza to countries from the region, backed by troops from the US, UK, Germany and France. Ideally, it would also include representation from Arab nations such as Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates,” Bloomberg reported.

Yes, the problem is that they aren't occupied by enough countries, and need more countries to occupy them all at the same time, that will fix everything! Though given the current fairly vocal public outcry, I can only imagine it would get even worse if soldiers from their own countries are the ones doing the genocide.

  • They don't bother me at all now, but my brother used to hide in my closet or under the bed with a Freddy mask on when I was a young child. I was deathly afraid of the Nightmare movies as a result until much later in my life.

  • If it takes that line to have even a chance to broker some kind of immediate stop to the bombings (note: I don't think it will), fine. I wouldn't have the stomach personally to say it, but I am also not a diplomat that is required to deal with countries I hate on a regular basis.

At least he goes on to acknowledge that the ultimate responsibility lies at the feet of western (US) actors.

  • I can't really speak to Brazil specifically, but I am generally supportative of comrades being armed, unless you are living somewhere that has already had a revolution. Just too many examples of purges to make it feel safe to me.

I am in Japan so we can't generally speaking. Of course, doesn't stop you from making your own...

  • I watch way too much horror, including trashy B-movie stuff. They don't necessarily scare me, only horror video games really do that, but I like the aesthetics a lot. I could go on for hours on horror movies if you let me.

The only thing that never clicked for me are most of the "found footage" genre. Things like Paranormal Activity bored me to tears.

My favourite is probably Alien; and I like [most of] the sequels for different reasons. I really like a lot of Thai horror too, I strongly recommend Shutter if you can find it. Audition is Japanese, but perhaps the only horror movie that disturbed me so much I don't want to watch it again.

  • The year is 2075. Due to a poorly worded shitpost by a communist decades ago, Slovakia has become the world's definitive super power. All decisions about anything must first be ratified by Slovakia before being put into effect. The Lord Commander of Slovakia enjoys unprecedented power and wealth.

  • This was half of what Fico ran on, isn't it?

Also notable that they won't sanction Russia further "without analyzing the impact it will have on Slovakia". Imagine that not being every government's default position.

  • Pick one to write your western media article about today!

    A) Schools will be used to teach Chinese Propaganda

    B) Schools will be used to house political prisoners and/or cheap labour.

    C) Secret Debt Trap!

    D) All of the Above

  • I am and that's not even the worst complaint I have heard. The things we have to DNR guests for is...particularly special. Had a guy who was screaming and yelling at our front desk call the police because we let one of our front service staff (who was a minority, which was his complaint) touch the luggage he had requested help with. Saved us the effort of calling the police ourselves, as they promptly escorted him out.

It's always the mid-tier CEOs that have delusions of grandeur too, almost without fail.

  • You shitpost, but I work high-end hospitality and this is the kind of thing rich entitled guests would actually complain about. It's rare a week goes by that a guest doesn't demand a refund for rainy weather negatively impacting their view (during the rainy season).

I think my favourite was a guest who didn't want a refund but demanded we make it stop raining. Like we somehow had control over this and were doing it just to spite them.

  • I know you've already been banned, but just in case another lib stumbles across the thread I will reply anyway.

They've tried peaceful marches. Israel shot the peaceful protestors and the world largely ignored it. The fact you didn't know about them shows how easily ignored they were.

Which, I understand, is entirely what ghouls like you want, something easily ignored.

  • I would argue that there wouldn't be much of a Palestine left to talk about if it weren't for Hamas, Israel would have probably successfully purged them from the country. We all saw how effective the last peaceful protest went over.
