Coal can't be reused, created, or otherwise obtained outside of mining. Until we remove our dependency on coal, mining will continue.

However, I could foresee a scenario where another candidate runs hard on the "pardon all the J6 'political prisoners' platform" and get some traction. That said, they would only follow-through if it got them political points or some other personal gain.

Of course, which is why they (republicans) have been working so hard to dismantle free and fair elections. They know they can't win if things are fair.

If conservatives become convinced that they cannot win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. They will reject democracy.

If they are US routes or interstates then yes. If they are state or county/township roads than probably not. Though if I recall correctly if a local road has an over/underpass of an interstate federal funds could be used to help maintain or rebuild those bridges. That part I'm fuzzy on though so could be wrong.

I do appreciate it. I'll call my role technical consulting too to keep things rather vague. My boss, and his boss, and his boss are VERY in-tune to the work/life balance. And the company as a whole has zero plans to get people into offices as they were very remote-first well before the pandemic. Hell my team is spread out across the US so it's not like I would be able to see any of them in-person anyway. When I took this position in May I had to make a list of where everyone was located to keep track of timezones, lol.

Gotcha, yeah I don't have a ton of data which is why I said I was likely in the minority. I do appreciate the insights though as my current position is only guaranteed through 2026 because of our project. Hopefully we get more projects and it continues but it's good to know that the industry is (unsurprisingly) screwing over more and more salaried employees.

I'm probably well in the minority here but I'm curious how true that statement is across the board. Or maybe I just work for a great team, lol. I rarely put in more than about 30-35 a week with exceptions of crunch-time deadlines. I do pull some odd hours because we have a team in India but can just take comp time later in the day or week to offset that. I'm paid (by most standards I know) quite well too.

That said, this is great for the folks that will benefit! I really hope this helps push for a larger reform. Far too many people are getting screwed over by shit jobs, shit hours, shit pay, shit benefits, etc...

He (the candidate) it just targeting key swing states. That's not to say others won't follow and file similar lawsuits which is quite possible. The real question is what happens with them and do they have an real impact.

I've heard that before but really wonder if it's true. My last encounter with (I believe Mormons though it's been a LOT of years ago) was while we were eating dinner. The front door was open with the glass storm door closed. They came to the door, knocked, then stared at us while we were eating dinner as a family. We stared back and they proceeded to knock another 3 times before leaving. I mean, regardless of what you are at the door for that's just rude as fuck so how would they expect a nice response?!
