EU could take the opportunity and become the new power-broker but clearly they can't shake off the "I can't tell anyone what to do, that wouldn't be nice" mentality. China will not hesitate to step in.

I think it's more that cutting off LNG completely would essentially drive EU electricity prices even higher than they are
France imports of LNG pay Russia more than they give to Ukraine in defence and France is supposed to be some nuclear power plant paradise
