What the ‘uncommitted’ vote says about Biden’s reelection
Tuesday’s primaries saw the final states cast presidential votes in the Democratic primary. More than 650,000 Democrats voted against Biden over the last four months by choosing options such as “uncommitted,” with others protesting in other states through write-ins, blank ballots, votes for other candidates and other means. Together, the hundreds of thousands of protest votes underscore the president’s political weakness with five months until Election Day. But they also provide a potential blueprint for a comeback.
It's a protest vote in an inconsequential election. When it matters, they will vote for the lesser of two evils, just like every other November election.
It will be very consequential when elections are no longer held or heavily restricted. They've already been public about a lot of their plans. But more power to you if you can lie convincingly enough to make yourself feel better.
Most are still going to vote for Biden as harm reduction thing. If I had and could voted uncommitted, I would. And if I were to vote for Biden, I would.
Excited to hear all the people trippling down on Biden explain how more than half a million people who are committed enough to go out and vote in a primary solely to voice their displeasure at Biden's Gaza policy are actually inconsequential and should be ignored. I'm sure we'll hear all sorts about how 'those people are too lazy to vote' despite them already having proven otherwise.
