Maybe the monster just turns back into clothes when the light's on. You barely escaped.
Part of becoming an adult is going from
\ "Oh no there's a monster in the closet."
\ to "Maybe I should get up and check, I'm sure my mind is just playing tricks on me"
\ to finally "Even if theres a monster, I don't care, I'm too tired."
Ah, I see you haven't reached the "it might be nice if the monster gets me while I'm asleep . . ." phase of your life yet.
