This is on you conservatives. Take a bow.
Who are you talking to? I've seen maybe two conservatives on Lemmy, and they had open minds.
Maybe the poster is talking more generally, not specifically to conservatives on Lemmy?
They're just, putting the message out there, but it's posted here because it relates to the subject.
Probably the people suing over the right to drive drunk as long as you don’t crash into someone and using the fact that most people who drive drunk do not get into accidents should get a portion of the blame.
The drunk driver, and sometimes the bartender who overserved: https://www.scribd.com/document/627785752/Press-Release-4
What are you implying? That the person isn't at fault?
More than 4,000 children and teenagers have been shot this year, according to data published by the Gun Violence Archive (GVA). At least 6,170 children and teenagers were shot in 2022, according to GVA.
Honestly it's pretty disingenuous to lump children and teenagers together, especially if talking about all the way to 17 or even 19

Hi, Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz.
The data referenced in that quote is linked in the article. When following the link, it specifies "Americans under the age of 18"
Full info: The Gun Violence Archive
Americans under the age of 18 killed or injured by gunfire since 2014:
2014: 2,861
2015: 3,378
2016: 3,820
2017: 3,982
2018: 3,543
2019: 3,825
2020: 5,159
2021: 5,705
2022: 6,170
2023: 4,319 [in 235 days]
"17 year olds are old enough to die to gun violence".
The last time I saw a difference between an 18-year-old, a 17-year-old, a 16-year-old, and a child younger than that was when I was 18
I think it's time to change the American National Anthem to "Another One Bites the Dust".
America: Only thing less valuable than the lives of our kids are the lives of foreign kids!
Excuse me.. we don't say foreign kids around here.. we prefer the term "future veterans of america" thank you very much
The funniest this is the talk about liberty but then if they don't cut the grass they are put in prison
Land of the free, as long as you only measure freedom in semi-automatic weapons.

Can we actually expect 2100 more children to receive a gunshot wound this year?
good house with a gun could've prevented this
That's utter fucking ridiculous!
The 12 year old should have had a gun so she could've shot the incoming bullet.
What kinda crap is this?
By 12 they should have a katana and the training to merely cut the bullet in half.
Florida is really not having a good go of things. Christ
This just happened in Jacksonville:
This was a hateful and insane racist, I suspect the intentions of this shooting above to be less extreme.
What was insane about him?
He was apparently lucid and intentional. He was just a violent racist that got whipped up by conservative media and politicians, and radicalized to kill Americans.
Everyone can see this coming from conservative rhetoric and they are proud of it.
The shooter will probably be posthumously honored at CPAC.
