More like: Germany has a lot of Christian traditions and has strong workers rights. If you want your workers to work on Sundays you have to get a permit.

Germany is a sometimes surprisingly Christian culture. Try visiting a Weihnachtsmarkt in the Rhineland, order Reibekuchen and mention your surprise explaining that they have these in America, they're called latkes and they're primarily Jewish food and guage their reactions.
