Tl;dr has evolved to mean I just don’t want to bother please recap it for me

I need a quippy response to say it’s not that bad, I promise, google or click the link and scan it. Then let’s chat about what you think

It literally always meant that?
It stands for "too long; didn't read."
- Yeah I didn’t get my point across very well. I was thinking about folks that ignore the tl;dr
  
  Ah that makes more sense. It read like it was about people responding to a wall of text with "tl;dr" asking you to give them a summary.
TL/DR has always meant that when written in response to a wall of text. If you’re going to post a wall of text, you need to accept that the VAST majority of people will not read it, and include a summary. Convention has evolved that the poster can highlight a summary of their wall of text themselves (and avoid a snarky “TL/DR” comment from others) by the poster highlighting the summary with their own TL/DR notation.
TL/DR: If people are throwing TLDR at you, you need to practice summarizing, rather than comeback quips.
- Nah, if someone is too lazy to read one page of a book in equivalent text, they're the ones that need to accept that their attention span and brain Ned need more exercise.

  And the upvote history of walls of text in a social network known for primarily short to mid length comments really backs up your argument. I’m not saying dumb down the world, I’m saying know your stage and the expectations of your audience.
