If I saw that in someone's house I'd think "well that's terrible but no-one's first woodworking project looks great, at least it's creative problem-solving".
Hearing the price tag is where I'd probably faint.
I have spent some time homeless and have legitimately seen homeless encampments with uh 'decor' that looks like this, albeit rusted and water logged.
Some stolen construction zone materials, some crackhead ingenuity and voila! 'comfy' chair.
This is about an average one bedroom apartment rent in the US for a ratchet ass chair (it literally has ratchets!) that can actually be assembled by toothless fentanyl addicts.
Fuck whatever this company is and anyone that buys this bullshit.
How charmingly quaint my good man! I think it will make the perfect bougie addition to my bare hardwood Manhattan flat. I'll put it just next to the elevator. This must really be how the poor's live!
My first thought is that this is meant for custom upholstery. If you're spending $1800 on a single chair, you're probably willing to shell out another grand or whatever to cover it in fabric that you like.
You could build one yourself for a fraction of the price with a trip to your local home improvement store. Even starting without tools, it would be cheaper.
