It's insane with all the problems OLEDS have that they feel justified charging more than a thousand dollars for a monitor. A monitor that no matter what will eventually get burn in.
Definitely one of the stupidest things I have heard on Lemmy, as far as tech goes. LCDs have a far slower burn in rate than OLED screens, but OLEDs have gotten way mature in the last decade. Few years ago, I would have said it still needs a lot of work, but the situation is significantly better. MicroLED might still be the next goal though.
