Rudy Giuliani booked in Trump Georgia election interference case, bond set at $150,000
Rudy Giuliani was the top Trump campaign lawyer promoting false claims that ballot fraud led to the election of President Joe Biden in Georgia and elsewhere.

Afterward, he told reporters, “I talked to the President [Trump] today. I wish him well.”
Isn't that against the terms set by the judge for Trump not to talk to con-conspirators?
Edit: The typo stays, since it fits.
97 0 ReplyUpvoted for con-conspirators.

From my understanding of the quote, he talked to him before he got booked, so he might not have been subject to the bond's requirements yet.

42 0 ReplyI guess he figured out that he had to go to Atlanta Corrections and not some store called Correction Atlanta or something.

7 0 ReplyIt might have been whatever was dripping down Gary Oldman's head in The Fifth Element.
18 0 ReplyNope, just grade a motor oil. That’s the secret

IIRC we didn't get immediate mugshots on the others either. Probably by EOD or tomorrow.

They just uploaded the mugshot, check the link again. He looks as charming as always.
5 0 ReplyI saw. He looks drunk. He probably was.

5'9 sounds accurate, but 180 pounds? That seems a bit generous. I bet they just asked him and didn't bother weighing him.
I was most interested in his BAC, too bad they didn't take that.
62 0 ReplySomeone said they just use whatever it says on your ID
26 0 ReplyNY licenses don't have weight on them (assuming Rudy still has one)

Nahh, density makes a big difference. He's probably a rather weak old man, so therefore doesn't have all that much non-fat weight.
On the other side, even basic body builders are obese by BMI standards.
8 0 ReplyTheir BAC tests probably would max out

They did, but the machine caught fire from the fumes.

As a New York City resident who lived through Rudy's term, may I say how glad I am to see that picture.
52 0 ReplyIn a few years he might qualify for a work-release program through Four Seasons Landscaping.
46 0 ReplyDoes Rudy have the money to post bail?
33 0 ReplyI'm sure some seedy bailbond place will happily loan him the money.
18 0 ReplyNo joke, the NYT article says:
After his booking, Mr. Giuliani, the former mayor of New York, stepped out of an S.U.V. to address a throng of reporters, calling the case “an attack on the American people.” He then made his way to A 2nd Chance Bail Bonds, a business near the jail.

17 0 ReplyMan, I sure wouldn't, even if I was a staunch conservative. He doesn't seem like someone who pays his bills if he can avoid it.

I was also wondering this since he's been begging for money for his legal bills.
13 0 ReplyThere was recent reporting that Trump hasn't paid Giuliani or Eastman. I wonder what else Giuliani has been doing for money.

Georgia has a 10% deal, so he only has to post $15K.
"The bond can be paid through cash, a commercial surety, or a court program that requires a payment of 10% of the bond amount."
9 0 ReplyIsn't someone still on the hook for the whole amount if he skips town? My understanding is that you pay the bondsman ten percent and they cover you, but if you blow town they're on the hook for the whole amount and will go after you.
4 0 ReplyWhat is the point of a large bail bond if 10% is all that needs to be paid? Why not get rid of that and just set it at whatever 10% is?

Giuliani was sober when he spoke to reporters as he left his Manhattan apartment earlier Wednesday to fly to Atlanta.
I legit thought this is what the third bullet point said.

10 0 ReplyAs opposed to all the other times he's talked to reporters...

“I’m feeling very, very good about it because I feel like I am defending the rights of all Americans, as I did so many times as a United States attorney,” Giuliani said.
He realizes this is a criminal case, not a rights case, right?
Edit: they edited the story and removed the quote. His original and full answer can be found here..
26 0 ReplyRudy is proudly defending every American's right to be a criminal dickbag. A defeat here would be a loss for assholes everywhere.
14 0 ReplyHe's defending his right to lie in a court of law...

16 0 ReplyAre they making them do a proper booking and appear at the arraignment in jail clothes after sitting in a cell for a bit?
Or is this just more proof they are above the law?
8 1 ReplyThey absolutely should but I'm going to guess no.
8 0 ReplyNot sure about the jail clothes, but defintely yes on the rest.

Wow Rudy's mugshot may just give me enough vigor to fight off the case of COVID I caught.
6 0 ReplyApparently he doesn't have $150,000 sitting around, as he was seen going into a bail bondsmans office.
2 0 Reply$15k*
2 0 ReplySince Georgia has Bail Bondsmen, I don't believe they "10%" the bails. That's what the bondsmen are there for. He just "wasted" 15k at the bondsman, since he would have gotten the entire $150,000 back, (minus court costs and fines if found guilty) but he won't see a dime of that $15,000 he just paid the bondsman.
