Steam App with Wayland

It seems that the Steam app only supports with X11 (and with Wayland, I need to use xwayland to run it).

How can I enable native wayland support? And if I can't, is there perhaps a mod or alternative steam client that will enable me to do so?

what about the x wayland support is causing you problems?
- Not OP but I get flickering in it on an nvidia card. Should be fixed in the next few months with explicit sync protocol getting finalised and a driver update though
  
  It's not even limited to nvidia, I also get it on intel igpu (i5-2320, ancient, I know).

There isn't a way. The Steam Client is mostly custom so there isn't a way to "force" it to use Wayland like a lot of other apps which are built on frameworks.
can you run steam on linux if you only run wayland?
