To think there was a time Labour was pretty respectable given its place in the Lion’s Den of capitalism. It even had a mini-revival under social democratic Jeremy Corbin.
Every moment of meaningful change in modern British politics begins with the realisation that politics must act in service of the British people, rather than dictating to them. Margaret Thatcher sought to drag Britain out of its stupor by setting loose our natural entrepreneurialism. Tony Blair reimagined a stale, outdated Labour Party into one that could seize the optimism of the late 90s. A century ago, Clement Attlee wrote that Labour must be a party of duty and patriotism, not abstract theory. To build a “New Jerusalem” meant first casting off the mind-forged manacles. That lesson is as true today as it was then.
Ewww, and to think that the is becoming more like it's master, How the labour party will refuse anti-imperialists, but will allow neoliberal ideologists like these cumskins. God, I hate succdems with a passion.
Death to AmeriKKKa. Death to Europe. Death to South KKKorea. Death to Isntrael. Cursed be to the liberals. Victory to Communism.
Late in 2002 Lady Thatcher came to Hampshire to speak at a dinner for me. Taking her round at the reception one of the guests asked her what was her greatest achievement. She replied, "Tony Blair Keir Starmer and New Labour. We forced our opponents to change their minds. They're literally just Conservatives now "
Whenever I read about a shadow minister in the UK, no matter the context, I wonder why that country in particular hasn't thrown their whole political establishment in the ocean yet. They are telling you they are evil! Act upon it!
