Michigan ends marijuana testing for some government job applicants
Michigan has altered rules that previously barred all state workers from employment if they failed a preemployment drug screen for marijuana.
Marijuana testing will remain in place for a large swath of government employees, including health workers, state police and Michigan Department of Corrections officers. But effective Oct. 1 eliminates the requirement for office staff and those applying for positions that don’t require driving, operation of heavy machinery or handling of hazardous materials.
Which leads to the need for an alcohol level style test to know how much is in your system at a current moment. So anyone can partake in their free time, and not worry about losing their job if some douche pulls out in front of them while on the job.
Doesn’t mean much if they will drop you in a heartbeat when something happens. Scapegoat for culpability.
