It was only a matter of time, right? While technical tricks like stacking a thousand explosive barrels or leveraging fall damage for Owlbear elbow drops are impressive in their own way, I've yet to see anything truly representing Dungeons & Dragons' frightening powergaming underbelly from Baldur's Gate 3's community. That is, until now.
I love stuff like this. I hope they don't go around nerfing and patching the fun out of the game. Most people are never going to play a build like this, but the idea that you can and the idea that tinkering and understanding the rules can lead to stuff like this makes playing and discovery really fun beyond just the games story.
I skimmed that article, but from what I remember, in 5th Edition you're only limited to only one bonus action per turn. Meaning that stacking that many bonus actions is probably a bug rather than a feature.
240 damage per turn guy never sassed your role playing, so don't take his playstyle preference as an attack on yours.
People have fun in different ways, and that's neat. Personally, I can't stand the combat at all and will take any shortcut through it including cheats... the characters and storytelling make it worth playing anyway.
