Tldr: 4k30 on PS5. No upgraded textures. Textures, map, and UI are all still 720p. New frame pacing issue in some cutscenes is introduced that isn't an issue in other versions (aka judder).
Main upgrades are 4k, locked 30 fps, FSR2, and improved shadows.
Wow what a sad port. All those years and still not freed from its 3p fps prison for official release.
IF they put a ton of time into de-spaghettifying the alleged horrible original code, I can see why they would want to put this out in its current state, but I wont be buying it until at least 4k60 support on console or at least a PC release, where modders will do all the upgrades they refuse to do.
I have an OLED, and 30fps is horrible on OLEDs. So this is a definite no.

If they had sold it for 25 Euros or something I’d have bought it. But for this kind of hefty price? No way.
Such a disappointing release all around. It's good that it's not locked to old systems anymore but it could have been so much more. For me the biggest shame is that there's still no PC release. Even with a release of this quality it would at least be always playable on a PC, rather than it eventually being locked to previous gen hardware again.
I agree. I played the crap out of this on 360 when it first came out. For me to re-buy I would want PC release and at least good performance on steam deck. At least this means we are a step closer considering the rumors about the OG code being so difficult to work with.
It's probably not worth putting the effort into a pc release that will just have a 0% recommended store entry. Ofc the actual solution is to put the effort into an unlocked framerate release, but given they aren't it probably just doesn't make sense for them as a company.
