I'm starting to worry that, funny as this situation is, we're starting to get too amused by it that we're forgetting it we also need to be outraged by it.
The police have intentionally been conditioned to be so fearful and so trigger-happy that they nearly murdered a man in broad daylight because of an acorn. The police are more dangerous than the criminals they pursue.
A police officer in responds to a call got spooked by the sound of an acorn dropping on the roof of his car and opened fire into the car. At the time there was a suspect in the car who he and his partner has already searched, cleared, and handcuffed. Luckily during the panic blind fire the suspect was not hurt. The first time I saw the trailer for Ice Age, he had me in a full blown belly laugh. It’s too bad he doesn’t feature more heavily in the movie. That trailer was a masterpiece of a short film in itself for 2002.
