I read that as DEI hires... 10 PMs for every engineer. The blood suckling corp I'm trying to exit has entire departments (plural!) of women, gay men, and poc that do nothing of real value. But the CDO really wanted to get all these "minorities" into tech! They run meetings with each other constantly and pass project status power points around like they are critical for the business to function. .... The glass eye refers to their complete lack of knowledge of any technology.
I've been flat out told we can't hire a white guy as our VP in tech despite the stack of 200 candidates leaving us with mostly unqualified folks. I've straight up heard other directors say shit like this as well.
Instead of tackling root causes we are making unqualified pity hires instead of giving those family food and childcare assistance.
The way we "help" now you piss off white people because they are being actively discriminated against , people are put into roles they would have never won, and typically the most educated will be the recipient of aid will benefit instead of those that need that help more. It's a bad system.

edit: before anyone thinks I actually meant this seriously...I was reacting to a ridiculously bigoted comment by some troll (I know...I shouldn't have reacted) claiming their company had entire departments full of women+minorities not doing any work. The comment no longer exists of course. I
