Hey! After seeing the main Anarchist sub on another instance be a bit of a shit show this one seems awesome and I do love me some solarpunk so this instance seems pretty cool as well.
But I gotta ask, is this instance anprim/anti-civ? I see green in the sub banner. It's not really a worldview I vibe with since I'm very much pro-tech, pro-civ, pro-AI, pro-medicine and pro-LGBT & disability rights, so if the majority here are of that persuasion I should probably bail, don't want to argue or start fights.
Solarpunk is technology serving nature rather than exploiting nature. Technology is fine, but as a tool to be used, not as an object of veneration, worship, or fetishization (the cryptobros and AI idolaters). Civilization is fine as long as it’s separated from the hierarchies and exploitation (refer to The Dawn of Everything and the Indus Civilization).
AnPrim is not terribly popular here, as it tends to be diametrically opposed to the goals of Solarpunk, which as others have already mentioned, is about using technology to empower individuals and improve society as a whole through an Anarchist lens. I think you'd fit right in here. :)
If I remember correctly, the green in this sub is for social ecology, Murray Bookchin's theory. AnPrims really don't like Bookchin, so they probably wouldn't enjoy this community's perspective.
Although tbh I haven't seen many AnPrims on Lemmy at all.
I imagine the mods of this community might have a more thorough answer but for me the short answer is "no" or "not exactly". It's most of the things you just mentioned although AI probably won't be super popular to everyone here. The Solarpunk Manifesto states: "Solarpunk envisions a built environment creatively adapted for solar gain, amongst other things, using different technologies. The objective is to promote self sufficiency and living within natural limits" . In many ways it's a reaction to AnPrim that embraces technology and optimism about the future and I haven't seen any AnPrims write about their positive views of our movement.

Describes me as well and I would not stay in an anPrim circlejerk. My main hobby is trying to steer solarpunks towards techs that empower rather than enslave.
Never really noticed any an-prim tendencies here. I also feel like many posters and people commenting participate im more than one of the anarchism communities, at least I do.
Plus, would love to see more anti-civ stuff here or in other communities, but I think i am pretty alone with that wish :D

Amprims and anti-civs don’t hang out on Lemmy, they hang out on Raddle, which refuses to federate with anybody.
Considering the fact that Solarpunk is an outgrowth of Anarcho-transhumanism, I don't think it's compatible with any sort of primitivism.
Where did you get this nonsense? It has completely different origins than (anarcho or not) transhumanism.
