!yurop@lemm.ee is a laid back community for Europeans. The main idea is to keep away from the news (those are mostly on !europe@feddit.de ) and focus more on history, culture, questions to people, etc.
!map_enthusiasts@sopuli.xyz always shows nice maps, I also try to post there from time to time
For movies and tv shows
- !avatar@lemmy.world gets new activity thanks to the upcoming TV adaptation
- !dundermifflin@lemm.ee for fans of the Office
- !futurama@lemmy.world used to be more active, but is now a bit quiet as the season ended
- !star_wars@lemmy.world always has some nice activity
Last but not least, I started a new more "structured" discussion community for movies and TV shows, trying to have the same vibe as in !casualconversation: !movies@lemm.ee. The objective is really to center the community around discussions rather than news, feel free to have a look!

- !simpleliving@lemmy.ml not that active, but people there are nice, I guess most of them are enjoying their lives
- !parenting@lemmy.world for parents. I'm always surprised it's not more active, I guess most of the parents are still on Reddit?
- !askmenover30@lemm.ee for, well, men over 30
- !personalfinance@lemmy.ml for people interested in money management
There's a few parenting focused ones that have popped up. Namely !dads@feddit.uk and !fatherverse@midwest.social. I wonder if it's just a case of having a relatively small pool of people spread out across multiple communities?
