The European Commission today decided it is safe for personal data to be transferred from the European Union to US-based companies, handing a victory to firms like Facebook and Google despite protests from privacy advocates who worry about US government surveillance.
Oof, I live in the US and even I don't want my personal data transferred to US companies. The EU was the one place that had stepped at least in the right direction on privacy, sad to see it backsliding.
What an horrible decision, trusting the US to enforcer privacy regulations is quite frankly ridiculous.
God damnit.
Another victory for big tech companies. I have degoogled, deleted Facebook and Twitter accounts. Run pihole/unbound on my network, use mullvad browser, block all windows telemetary. Just working out what to do next.
