Look while the tone of the original post clearly could use some softening and the maker's wording is a little naive, it does make some good points. You just have to look a little deeper than surface level
Alright, you know what? This is ridiculous. This image—this image wants me to pretend it's interesting. Pretend? I don't have to pretend anything. You know what's interesting? The fact that someone took the time to make this! That someone, somewhere, thought, "Hey, you know what the world needs? A big block of text that tells people how to feel about it." That's not just interesting; that's hilarious! It's like telling a joke and then explaining why it's funny. The sheer audacity, the unmitigated gall of this image to demand our interest—it's almost admirable. But here we are, discussing it! So, joke's on us, I guess?

because newpipe sucks and is stuck a decade or more in the past ui wise so everything's ugly and really hard to navigate it constantly crashes just opening a video it completely disregards levels of privacy people might want like not allowing people to sign in for just a sub feed and then watching the videos unsigned in which would still be more private than the youtube app so you have to do it locally so their terrible web scraper system can take 5 minutes to refresh your sub feed during which time you can't use the app at all and it doesn't even catch every video newpipe is genuinely terrible use revanced
It works, it's FOSS and it has some pretty cool features. I have like 42 subs, so it takes like 1.4 seconds. Do you have better FOSS alternatives? I am open for recommendations! But I don't wanna have to sign in with Google.
I find it to be derivative and banal, because I am very important and sophisticated and everything should always be about me. Look at me being smart on the internet. I'm a very special boy.
Hmm you think so? Personally, I think that it makes more sense to share what is there, and not keep it for yourselves... Or was that what you were implying?
Why do I need to pretend that this post is interesting? I mean, isn’t it? By its nature, it’s an intriguing idea. Give a group of commenters a task, and see the reactions. Will they disagree? Call you out? Ignore you? Or in this case, we’ve seen more interaction than your average post, with the comment to vote ratio being higher than most, and many of them expressing themselves in some wildly different ways. Ultimately, there is no need to pretend this post is interesting, because in my opinion, it actually is.
I choose to VPN to my home network, which has a piHole DNS running on it so I can keep my traffic obscured on any wifi I join while also having invasive ads blocked. It's convenient!
It is deeply inspiring what this oevre tells us about the dialectics of meaning developing between a post and it's audience. Even with no inherent meaning the picture unfurls the deepest human desire to connect and to form communities, especially in disconnecting times and virtual places of refuge from it.
No I'm not going back to reddit. I will stand with you, withstanding the most selfreferential, the most empty, in hope of a we to fill that void.
Catboi mutual aid programs will pave the way to a communist revolution. THE OWNERSHIP CLASS WILL TREMBLE BEFORE OUR GREAT FURRY MIGHT! WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BUT OUR CHAINS!
What if some of us don't want to lose our chains and quite like the idea of being owned uwu can we still have consensual ownership in the catboy utopia?
I know on the surface this seems like a reasonable position, but it just doesn't correlate with reality. This is a great breakdown on the science of why OP's position is simply impossible. It wasn't even considered as an option until the 1980s when for-profit colleges started promoting it.
I pen this missive with the utmost urgency and a disposition most unsettled. It is with a heavy heart and a constitution somewhat compromised that I must address the recent pictorial correspondence you so kindly dispatched in my direction.
Upon the unveiling of your transmitted image, I must confess, my sensibilities were profoundly assaulted. The depiction, though I shan't delve into its particulars, elicited in me a sensation most disconcerting, akin to the physical maladies of nausea and profound distaste. It is a sensation most challenging to articulate in polite company, yet I find myself duty-bound to convey my honest reaction, albeit with the greatest respect and consideration for your artistic endeavors.
I do hope you interpret my words not as a slight upon your character or artistic merit but as an earnest reflection of the visceral response elicited within me. The image, whilst no doubt a product of considerable effort and creativity on your part, regrettably failed to resonate with my aesthetic preferences and indeed, agitated my otherwise steadfast composure.
I trust that you will receive this critique in the spirit of constructive candor with which it is intended. It is not my wish to disparage but to engage in an open and forthright dialogue, as befits our longstanding correspondence and mutual respect.
I eagerly anticipate your next pictorial submission, confident in your ability to delight and inspire with your artistic prowess. Until then, I remain,
Yours most sincerely and with the highest regards,

P.S. I do hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits, notwithstanding my candid remarks herein.
