Y'know, typing it out, this seems really fucking stupid, but equally, it's Kojima, so who really knows, but I've assumed it tied into the overall "stealthy scavenger", but also FOXHOUND. You did the best, you outwitted what was designed to kill you. You are the fox that got away from the hound.
It's Kojima, though. If someone told me "He saw a fox while heading into work and went 'That's pretty cool, Imma use that somewhere'", I wouldn't question it.
The eye patch strap without the eye patch really resonates with my soul.
