Hamas wouldn't exist without Israel's direct help. They directly funded and helped create the group in its infancy because they thought it would be easier to control than the other more democratically elected parties.
Fast forward to modern day and they still propped up and funded Hamas because of the hunger for power.
"Suitcases full of cash" is only the latest development. Netanyahu has been legitimizing Hamas for many years in opposition to the moderate Palestinian Authority, which he has de-legitimized, because he doesn't want to talk to any Palestinian who wants peace
Is there a power balance between the two? No. But are they both working, hand in hand, to server themselves at the expense of their respective people? Absolutely. People who would call this "both siding" are missing who the actual "teams" are - ruling class vs working class. Everywhere across the globe they divide us, does that mean the struggles of the marginalised aren't real or need addressing? Of course not, but it does mean that to end the marginalisation and oppression we must fight those orchestrating and benefiting from it, not each other.
