Arguing with dumb people actually makes you smarter because you have to figure out ways to explain things in a way a dumb person can understand

But you probably ain't gonna make the dumb person any smarter.
- You always have to hope you can change someone’s mind. And at the very least, the people who read the comments might have something new to think about
sure if you have the time but I already spend a lot of time making myself smarter in a variety of realms and I don't necessarily have spare time for the particular item of conversation. Your right though that in general that communication and collaboration regardless of level really helps everyone understand things better.
