This is Scrappy (RIP), his black fur had patches of white likely due to vitiligo. One of the prettiest cats I've ever seen.

Kitty-ligo served him well! My mother's old cat got bits of white fur on him as he aged, but never like this.
That cat can talk. And it has a posh British accent.

I feel for your loss, going through it similarly myself. On the other hand, I have never seen this before in a cat, and he looks incredible.
- He wasn't my kitty, but I appreciate the sentiment nevertheless as I have lost pets before. It's never easy.
He looks so soft and cuddly
- but also like some creep comes after the kids... well, the creep ain't gonna creep no more.

Do you know how old he was when he developed the white patches?
- The article said he was 7 years old.

  Oh I saw that. It was a joke about how being called black with white spots seems quite the opposite of what it looks like.
That look, though. They sure are watching you from anywhere they are now.
