Warrior only made it to 54. He had a lot going on, admitted steroid use, so definitely some substances involved. Also, supposedly untreated serious mental illness. People who have worked with him say that's his real personality, not an act.

Not to mention the drinking, drugs, partying, etc. It's funny how old wrestlers get mad that new wrestlers aren't "men" cause they go home and stream video games and go watch Netflix, instead of going out to get trashed and be idiots. New wrestlers seem healthier, don't abuse their bodies as much and don't ignore nagging injury just to be "tough".

I haven't watched wrestling in 15 years and there are young guys who's entire careers I missed cause they decided to go out while they still had a working body and brain, instead of destroying their lives for it.

Bit of a tangent, but this is why I have a bitter laugh when people recommend going into the trades rather than going to university and then working an office job.

Sure, you can earn plenty working in construction, as a plumber, painter, etc.

But a lot of the people my parents and grandparents knew working those kinds of jobs, all died young. Many didn't even reach retirement. Others had many significant health issues and didn't get to enjoy their remaining years. Either because their backs were fucked, or due to over-exposure to carcinogens and other toxic chemicals in an industrial setting.
