does anyone know what happened to cryptodon.lol
i guess i just experienced one of the biggest downsides to the fediverse that people have been talking about. instance suddenly disappeared with no warning. i guess i've lost my follow list
Crypto? Pulling a rug out from someone? I'm shocked! Shocked!... Well not that shocked..
This problem, btw is exactly what nostr solves. With nostr your identity is tied to your key, not to your instance (they call them relays). So if your instance dies, you don't lose your followers, you just start publishing to a new relay.
Would be great if there was an option to automatically backup your account data to a cloud service (including Nextcloud) or just by sending it to your email
