What is Israel supposed to do, though? Just let the Hamas attack go unpunished? I get that there's something between doing nothing and what they're doing, but I'm just curious what people think they should have done instead. (Realistically. Obviously leaving is no longer an option for them because all the people who live there.)
What do you mean unpunished? Based on the history of Israel and Gaza, the attack on Israel was the punishment. So beyond the fact dropping thousands of bombs is absolutely unacceptable, any lethal retaliation is not going to help the situation. It's an emotional reaction with devastating consequences.
This is the same excuse Turkey uses when people bring up Armenian genocide. If we think really hard and cannot find some in-between solution, does that mean the genocide is justified? Is it our job to, or are we even capable of, finding a solution? Is it not the job of politicians or some other professionals?
The lack of basic humanity from that scumbag downpunxx never ceasses to amaze me.Seeing posts of babies pulled from rubble and that cunt posts pictures of an Israel flag and calling for no ceasefire, and calling anyone who wants an end to the slaughter anti-semitic.
death toll has risen to at least 10,022 Palestinians, including 4,104 children, with many victims still trapped beneath the rubble and an Israeli siege drying up access to vital goods like fuel, food and electricity.
“The number [death toll] is expected to go up as at least 2,000 people remain under the rubble. The problem is, with lack of heavy equipment and machinery, the rescue teams on the ground are unable to remove and pull out these bodies from under the rubble,”
The number of those wounded since the October 7 start of the bombardment has risen to 25,408… a result of Israel’s indiscriminate bombardment of civilian homes, hospitals, refugee camps, and schools, said Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), a United Kingdom-based organisation
Running low on fuel supplies, 16 of Gaza’s 35 hospitals have been forced to suspend operations as the number of people wounded increases and the United Nations said that more than 1.5 million people, which is more than half of Gaza’s population, have been displaced.

Wait, where did the .49% figure come from? I can't see it in the article
Even if you take the remaining 1.5m that have not escaped been displaced from gaza that the article indicates, you're still looking at a discrepancy of a couple of orders of magnitude. Am I missing something?
A. The 1.5 million people have not "escaped" or been displaced "from Gaza", they've been forced to move to different places in the Gaza Strip: shelters predominantly. There's no ingress/egress from Gaza. It's basically a giant open-air prison.
Israel erected a giant cage around the land boundary of the whole strip in 1993. There's only 3 exits, all of which are closed: the Rafah crossing into Egypt, the Kerem Shalom crossing at the corner where Israel and Egypt touch, and the Erez crossing into Israel in the north.
Israel enforces a blockade of the shoreline, and a no fly zone. They destroyed Gaza's airport in 2001.
B. "More than half" is doing some pretty heavy lifting. 1.5 million is closer to 75%.
C. 10,022 / 2,048,000 = 0.489355%. Since the post yesterday, Israel has killed another 283 people which brings it up to 10,305 / 2,048,000 = 0.503%.
I want to qualify this with - we know what israel and the idf are doing is terribly wrong, and under no stretch of the imagination, can their actions be justified.
So, now that that's clear - the palestinian health authority is directly controlled by HAMAS, and aljazeera is biased in the conflict, due to their relation and ownership.
We cannot trust any information and media reports coming from any source, doing so is a fools errend, and every argument follows this same cycle of futility for this reason.
What we can do, is call for an immediate cease fire and somehow band together internationally to demand an independent tribunal investigate. It may sound like a pipe-dream, but given the reality of this situation, it's quite literally the only way...
