I don't really get the appeal of facials or the whole dude finishing by jacking off on the girl trope in general. For me that always gives a kind of "you didn't feel good enough to make cum, so I had to finish off myself" kind of feel. Coming inside or letting your partner finish you off is so much better IMO.
Cum play can be really hot, but for me it's typically after sex thing or my partner is in control and she gets to decide how and where I cum.
As with several things are, I think it's a fetish that used to be more niche before mainstream porn. It's a very simple and visual thing that they could do to cater to the audience that liked it, and that the rest would just ignore. As time went on, porn participated in shaping perceptions of what sex is, and cumplay grew in popularity.
