Do you prefer a named protagonist or a nameless "blank slate" protagonist in your soulslikes?

i love both when used appropriately. a nameless protagonist trope works with souls games (and Elden Ring as their direct successor) because of their theme of life cycles and repeativeness. plot of Sekiro, LoP, etc. strongly associated with uniqueness of the protagonist, the story is more detailed and personal
I prefer the freedom to make my character as cute or as horrifying as I want.
I like what hollow knight did.
You find out you're just the latest incarnation of the hollow knight, and you have to fight the last one
