You know you can see western Europe following the US and stuff like this makes me a bit anxious as a migrant. Especially considering my political activism against the state.
Though my possible deportation would be far less impactful and dramatic than any non Westerner living here of course.
Also, the guts to talk about illegal immigration on stolen land even.
Mate.. you would be deported from Belgium to the Netherlands... thats absolutely nothing. Take it from someone who's actually been deported, you will never know the half of it.
Hence my second paragraph. It's not really nothing, I have a life here now. And a job. And a house. And friends.
But my comment was not meant to trauma larp or anything. I understand my situation would be vastly more preferable than any non Western migrant and their struggle alone should be enough motivation to stop such bills from being implemented.
Germany is already preparing to do this.
But why? Don't they rely on cheap labor coming in to the country?
Heres the neat thing, they will just import labor from even poorer countries.
Yeah but they'd rather be racist and xenophobic. And maybe it's all just threats to keep us immigrants in line.
Well, brightside is it saves you a few thousand dollars on renouncing your citizenship. It isn't a cheap or easy process normally.
I wouldn't put it past the US to charge the victims of this the renunciation fee anyway, and keep them on the IRS list as tax persons.
I am genuinely hoping they start doing this and there's an easy enough way for me to make myself a target. I have U.S. citizenship and I do not want it, but I don't have the money to jump through all their hoops to renounce it.
Between this and his recent tweet on his twitter clone referencing Musk, I give it 6 weeks tops before they actually try it.
Can you still be denaturalized after leaving the US? I left but still required to pay taxes and renouncing the citizenship involves an exit tax. I'm assuming denaturalization doesn't come with a tax burden.
There's going to a be tipping point if that they make enough people "illegal" and desperate too quickly then there will be national militant action against the state. There will not be enough ICE agents to stop that. Unless there's another FDR to allow factions of capital to save itself from the others' shortsightedness (from a capital perspective).
it's like a competition of being how many things they can remove from their alleged "rights" before all the earth see burguerland as a dictatorship and a failed state
