Neither the officers or immigrants are able to leave the container, located in a U.S. naval base in the scorching-hot nation of Djibouti, until the matter has been resolved by the courts, which could take weeks.
Talk about cruel and unusual punishment; to be forced to stay in a hot shipping container for weeks with ICE agents…. There has got to be a Geneva convention rule being broken there.

Apparently, one of them was convicted of 2nd degree murder 20 years ago. Trump insisted on deporting him to Djabouti because he claimed Mexico wouldn't take him.
But Shenbaum was never told he was eligible for transfer. Now she's got her state department asking Trump's state department to send this guy her way. But they can't because they've cocked this whole thing up so badly.
