Patrick Spencer, the MP for Central Suffolk and North Ipswich, is set to appear in Westminster Magistrates’ Court charged with two counts of sexual assault. He categorically denies the charges.

Frank Ferguson, head of the special crime and counter terrorism division at the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), said: "Following a review of the evidence provided by the Metropolitan Police Service, we have authorised two counts of sexual assault against Patrick Spencer MP
Why is this phrased like CPS has authorised someone to sexually assault the guy twice?

He's been in a position of power making decisions about vulnerable people's lives. It's scary
I don't think CPS go this far against an MP without some pretty solid evidence.
For now, he's only guilty of being a Conservative. I imagine he'll be guilty of a lot more before this is done.
