I know a Nazi douchebag from Ohio.

He tried to recruit me, then shame me, then gave up.

The best defense is to ignore their probes, and kill them with kindness. They'll give up, eventually. But then, you'll still have to tolerate their bullshit if they attend the same social situations. Don't take the bait if they try to provoke you to violence. Even if you win, they're so vindictive and amoral they'll use that as an opportunity to harm you, via arrest, and lawsuits.
