Watched Lemon Cake's preview of it. All the gamplay is supposedly very good, sieges and warfare is meh due to a couple reasons including a meh AI.
The performance is sadly garbo. His computer took 7 minutes to load it, and it had noticable early game chug with an Intel 10850k and 64GB of DDR RAM.
- that's fucking wild. it's literally just a stylized map
  i guess it's all the backend tracking of nation stats and pops, not the map graphics, but still
  
  Paradox games are all single-core cause the devs (read: execs) keep reusing engines from the stone age, so it doesn't matter how beefy the computer is. It's all being run one instruction at a time, every tick for each nation. Performance just keeps dipping each game as complexity grows.

Excited for another 3000 hours of map staring

Oh boy! I can't wait to have the game be more barebones than EU1 at launch, but with big expensive DLC every 3-4 months that adds new content, and as a bonus, comes with a free patch that disables my game unless I have the DLC!

should I finally play EU4?
- Gotta start with EU3 to catch you up on the storyline. EU1 and 2 were retconned in 3.
- No, wait for EU5. Or play IR to see if you are going to like EU5
