Best usage of motherboard

Hello selfhosted !

I had a thought I’d like to share with you.

I currently have a motherboard that was used to game and that i would like to reuse.

I thought of 2 ways to use it:

I also have other computers running Kubernetes (2 nodes)

My question is should i go Kubernetes for this on too, or on another path ?

You could do all of them
- Yeah, if it was a gaming PC it would have no problem doing Nas and steam. I wouldn't bother with kubernetes or docker though. Just use Linux, no need for containers.

  Depends heavily on the use case. You can't just rule out a full technology without a proper reason/justificiation beyond "Container bad".

With a gpu in the mix, it could be used as an htpc/console and also work as a nas/media server with transcoding.
Probably not what you're after, but: I decorate the walls in my home-office with discarded motherboards.

I work with processing clusters that operate in harsh (humid) environments, so the failure rate is quite high. Supermicro X11 boards tile pretty neatly.
