Be Welcoming to those who had the strength to leave this cult
Some of us lost family over this. Not just arguments. Not just cold shoulders at dinner. Real loss. People we loved, who now see us as the enemy. Because we wouldn’t nod along. Because we chose truth over tribe. Because we refused to pretend that loyalty to a flag is the same as loyalty to humanity.
They didn’t want discussion. They wanted obedience. They wanted us to smile while they defended oppression, cheered for cruelty, swallowed lies whole and begged for more. They wanted our silence while they excused the unexcusable. Praised the unqualified. Worshipped the unhinged. And when we wouldn’t comply, they cut us out like disease.
But we keep speaking. Not for them. For the ones still trying to find their way out. The ones who started asking questions. The ones who feel the cracks forming inside the fantasy they were sold. The ones brave enough to walk away, even when it means walking alone.
Those people matter more than they know. They carry the map. They know the language of the cult and the way out of it. They’ve escaped the gravity of the lie and now they can help others do the same. They are not traitors. They are teachers. And they need to be embraced, not shamed.
Because the only way out is together. One awakening at a time. One voice at a time. One act of courage at a time.
This was never about winning arguments. It was always about surviving the era with your soul intact. About standing up even after being knocked down by people who used to love you. About remembering who you are when everything around you tells you to forget.
We keep speaking. We keep shouting. We keep resisting. Because the cost of silence was never just political. It was personal.
And when the future asks where we were, we’ll answer with scars. With stories. With our heads high and our hearts clean.
