US appeals court rules assault weapon ban not unconstitutional

The US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit on Thursday held that a Massachusetts law banning the sale, transfer, or possession of an assault weapon is not unconstitutional under the Second Amendment to the US Constitution. This decision comes after Massachusetts resident, Joseph Capen, contended that he was planning on purchasing items covered by the law for purposes of self-defense.

Don't buy an assault rifle. Get an AR-15.
You can't buy an assault rifle. That's not a real thing. I'm happy with my AR-15.
That's the joke, kind of. ;)
But an assault rifle is real, it's just not available for the general public. (Unless Arizona, I think? Their laws are a bit different when it comes to full auto.)
It's defined in certain states laws, like the one in the article.
They banned "assault weapons" not assault rifles.
It includes AR-15s, and most every gun made since 1950.
