Eagle Owl Receiving Care
Eagle Owl Receiving Care
From EULEN- UND GREIFVOGELSTATION Haringsee
When we took over this impressive eagle owl a few days ago, he was very dazed and unable to fly. He had a concussion, an injury to one eye, and a bruise in the area of his shoulder girdle.
We don't know whether the eagle owl flew into a window, a car, or another obstacle. He was found lying on the ground in a garden in Eibesthal and brought to us. He was so disoriented that we had to feed him by hand.
After several days of intensive care and medication, the eagle owl has now recovered somewhat. We were able to move him from his sick box to an aviary. He is now able to reach the upper perches in his enclosure by flying.
However, the bruise in his shoulder area is still causing him some problems, so he will have to stay with us for a while. We hope that he will fully recover and that we can then release him.
