  • The pirate life is making a comeback and the chuds are landlubbers.

    A major chunk of the Gen Xers I know these days have the piracy fire sticks and a lot of those younger than that are returning to their janky tube sites and torrent trackers.

    Nintendo might be able to essentially end physical game media to fight piracy but the video execs will never be able to stop screen capture.

    • totally. I wonder if it will make streaming programming even shittier over time, because the segment of paying subscribers will dictate popularity metrics.

      and, essentially, paying subscribers are increasingly those poor souls lacking the skills and bravery for living one's best life on the high seas. ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ๐Ÿฆœ๐ŸŒŠ

      • nah you got โ€œyoutubeโ€ first of all and afaik the term โ€œtubeโ€ originates from old tvs (the T in CRT). People used to call television โ€œthe tube.โ€
