Found a Lot of Canadian Groceries Today - Retailers Seem to be Noticing

If I compare trying to buy as much Canadian product as possible, it was far easier today than a month ago. La Cocina tortillas sit on the top shelf of the tortilla area, Covered Bridge and Hawkins rest in the high traffic chip aisle among the big companies. This store now carries 6 flavours of Sprague soup instead of one.

Some products were always there, but it was a lot less digging today!

On the flipside, the shelf space for American products, I found noticeably shrinking these last couple weeks. These carrots from California used to have an entire pallet of space but now it's less than half that. The Guatemalan carrots have more room. They are probably becoming less popular with shoppers.
- Our local foodbasics switched their citrus to Not American! It was nice to have oranges again!
  I hope that as this trend continues, even more food that's typically made in the States will be converted over to either products of Canada or imported from elsewhere: cereals, for example, are an entire isle of American products.
Those Covered Bridge chips are fucking fabulous!

When I shopped on Sunday Save-On-Foods had onions from Alberta (instead of the usual USA ones) and Hams were divided into to freezer sections - one Canadian made, and the other USA. They are slowly, very slowly, understanding that many of us will go without if we can't buy Canada first, Mexico, Europe & S America and Asia next and never USA.
- It's cool to hear but I 100% noticed that save on specifically raised prices on Canadian products since the tariffs.
  I'm not buying American but I'll be damned if I support them or fucking Loblaws through this shit. I'll stick to my local grocers, even though they haven't made it as easy to shop Canadian yet.
Hnnnngh I can't find Cheezies in Quebec anymore and I want them so bad

Just an fyi. You can order Made Local directly from their website if you want. They have a subscription service too where you get one box of what you want each week and then a box of a special second product.
My family has replaced our American granola and protein bars with these. Theyre really good.
- That’s great to know - I have only recently discovered them! I really enjoy that they don’t have the weird aftertaste that a lot of protein bars have - they taste like they are actually made of food. Is it more cost effective to order directly?
  
  Definitely more cost effective but only if youre going to eat a lot of them.
Wow Canadians are doing what they should have always been doing. Why does it take Trumps actions for you guys to start doing the right thing. When I go to the grocery store in the US Im looking at prices not brands.
- Spiteful isolationism isn't a good thing for any country when we have to share a planet with other human beings.
  Russia shouldn't have worked with Republicans to push a fascist presidential canidate and the American people shouldn't have been stupid enough to vote for it. And Canada shouldn't have less options and higher prices just because the Russian asset US president somehow illegally is allowed to create tarrifs without congress.
