I think what looks like pupils might be reflection of the camera in the eyes of the spiders
I didn't think about it but that may just be.
Why do they look like minions in costumes?
Yes! They do. With their little hairs on the head and big globulous eyes. But to me, they look like owls.
I'm a little confused. Doesn't macro mean big?
The term photo-macrograph was proposed in 1899 by W. H. Walmsley for close-up images with less than 10 diameters magnification, to distinguish from true photo-micrographs.
