What mundane thing did you say to get banned from reddit?

I've been reading a lot of comments lately about people getting banned for really mundane things. Some as much as upvoting a comment.

My 11 year old reddit account got banned. I still don't know exactly what I said but I believe it was for talking about the US invading Canada and how we Canadians would fight back.

I think the funniest thing was getting banned from r/politics for posting two lines from the lyrics of Kidnap the Sandy Claws - a song from a kids movie Nightmare Before Christmas. A KIDS MOVIE!

"Kidnap the Sandy Claws, throw him in a box. Bury him for ninety years, then see if he talks"

I don't even remember the context of posting it, but it was about Santa Claus. You know, a fictional character.

Pathetic.

  • Someone else posted that they wanted to fire Bezos off in a rocket never to return. I replied that it would be more appropriate to float him down the Amazon. My comment (and only mine) was banned for "inciting violence".

  • Since the Digg Exodus, I've gone through a dozen accounts on Reddit, typically for strongly disagreeing with figures in various administrations. I'm too old anymore to care.

  • I’ve been permabanned multiple times for fairly innocuous comments. The most egregious was getting banned for typing “whyteboi victimhood.” Mod said I was racist/sexist. I am a white male.

My most recent ban was for threatening violence for typing that I wish I could “stomp out” anti-intellectualism. Such a violent threat from me.

  • I still do not know why I was banned. I just got some generic "broke reddit TOS". When I appealed asking what rule I broke and promised to not break it again they instantly denied the appeal with no further explanation.

    Fuck em.

    • That was kind of the same with me. They said I said something bad. They deleted it and banned me. I asked what I said. The reply was basically "we've banned you for what you said".
