Is the Jedi: series considered Soulslike?
Yup! It's a blend of a lot of game genres. It's got a focus on melee combat, dodging, parrying, the difficulty - all that good stuff you'd see in a soulslike. There are a couple more influences, like Uncharted with its exploration and parkour passages, but soulslikes are definitely in the mix too.
I guess if you'd put the difficulty at the highest setting it could be viewed as pretty tough. I've always made more of a comparison to Assassin's Creed myself. I just finished Survivor which was not a bad game in itself, but the pc performance was horrible at times. The holotable gave huge fps drops and the game would crash every time I went to Jedha without turning RTX off.
I haven't played the games myself, I just heard that it's close to a soulslike considering its core game mechanics and gameplay.
Yea, the game's performance made lots of news back when it was released. Is it manageable these days or is it still as bad as back then?
I managed to get around 100 fps with DLSS and frame generation on an RTX 4070. Maxed out settings at 1440p. Ray tracing on.
My biggest issues were the ones I mentioned. It felt choppy at times but it was mostly okay. The overall quality of the game was a redeeming factor for me. As long as I remembered to turn off Ray tracing when going to Jedha it didn't crash and gameplay was fairly smooth.
However, in its engine and techniques it wasn't too different from Fallen Order, which was all in all not as good as Survivor but ran buttery smooth. I thoroughly enjoyed both games though, some of the best RPGs I ever played.
