In our recent election, I was led to believe the president controls the price of eggs.

There are more than 26 Billion chickens in the world... I'm pretty sure we're just getting fucked by the corporations, once again.

  In 2023, there were about 379 million egg-laying hens in the US
  In 2023, Americans ate an average of 281.3 eggs per person
  The U.S. egg industry produces about 110 billion eggs each year.
  
  Maybe I just don't eat a ton of eggs and certainly don't think about the number of eggs used to make other foods. But that 281 eggs per person just astounds me.
