Considering the number of top mathematicians leaving the USA and heading back to China, I think US is only going to be able to poach 2nd stringers
"china has been ripping us off, they had all of the numbers, and they controlled the whole thing, and the world is laughing at us, and they all knew. and china, the communist party, you don't want those guys doing math. who ever thought a communist could do math? but not anymore. no longer will we be using chinese math. we're getting all our math now from laos. if you thought the chinese could do math, boy i tell you, and everybody's saying it, we have all the best guys and all of the countries around the world, many which don't like me, but many do, even they're saying it, the lotions- that's what these wonderful people are called, the things they can do with the math, you would never believe it folks"
Would love to hear how the US plans to do this while undergoing massive brain drain
There's been talk lately about opening China up, removing the firewall etc. China needs to be careful of this. If I were to disrupt China one way to do it would be with tech startups that aim to "disrupt" industries by forming middleman apps that destroy all competition and consume the industry into a monopoly. Much like Discord did to voicechat. Much like uber did to taxi companies. Much like Justeat did to restaurants. Etc etc etc. There are a lot of industries that haven't yet been disrupted by tech and it is easy for these mega billionaires to run startup apps at a loss to destroy entire industries until their app has monopoly and then turn profit afterwards.
If competition in China is great, you don't want these. Unless of course you intentionally allow it to happen and then nationalise the monopoly that finally forms after the industry has been consumed and then maintain and manage it at its least profitable level and highest public good.
least profitable level and highest public good
These things aren't usually popular because they provide a much better consumer experience - once you take out all the aspects that generate huge losses
Turns out Trump isn't Hitler after all, he's Mussolini.
Also tech has been like this forever. Youtube was the video winner because Google was ok with losing infinite money until all the competition went out of business, for example.
I found a YouTube link in your post. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
