Instagram announces new video app amid TikTok troubles

Instagram announced a new video creation app Sunday amid legal struggles faced in the U.S. by TikTok, another social media platform with a focus on visual content.

“Today we’re announcing Edits, a brand new app for making videos on your phone,” Instagram head Adam Mosseri said in a video posted on the platform.

Instagram is already a video app tho?
- guess they realised Instagram isn't ohio skibidi amongst younger generations and decided to rizz the kids with a thing that looks new but is the same

I wonder if there are any other apps that they can ban for anti-genocide and then steal their product?
Instagram reels are full of unmoderated racist jokes and sexualized content. I hate it, but I am not active enough to diverge it away from that default state
