[Soft] La Femme Damnée (The Damned / Cursed Woman)

If this is what damnation is really like, then it doesn't look too bad. The artist is Nicolas François Octave Tassaert (1800-1874) and there doesn't seem to be any information about what message he actually intended to convey with this painting. However, its exhibition in 1859 apparently ended his career.
